Lois Walpole's "Weaving Ghosts" exhibition

What a treat to join Sally Roach and Janice Brooklyn, both UK basket makers, to see Lois Walpole's exhibition at the Broadway Gallery in Letchworth Garden City, UK.
Some of Lois' words: "My work has always been about the wasted potential of materials that we regard as having no further use. Protecting the environment is one of the message that I hope the work conveys, but it also questions our attitude to consumerism and what makes us decide what is rubbish."

"Plastic Entanglements: Ecology, Aesthetics, Materials" is at the Smith College Museum of Art, in Northampton, MA, through July 28. It is worth a visit. It is a visual reminder of what we are doing to our planet.

After working together for more than a year, Deidre Scherer and I have created 12 vessels for "Connections," an exhibition that opened yesterday at the Brattleboro Museum & Art Center. These vessels are "representative of the character the human body gains with experience and time."
Many thanks to those of you who came to see our work, and to talk to us about it. It will be up through June 16.
