Last year, the National Museum of Scotland, in Edinburgh, acquired my piece "Shelter" for their World Cultures Gallery. Today I visited. I am so very chuffed (proud) and pleased.

"Plastic Entanglements: Ecology, Aesthetics, Materials" is at the Smith College Museum of Art, in Northampton, MA, through July 28. It is worth a visit. It is a visual reminder of what we are doing to our planet.

After working together for more than a year, Deidre Scherer and I have created 12 vessels for "Connections," an exhibition that opened yesterday at the Brattleboro Museum & Art Center. These vessels are "representative of the character the human body gains with experience and time."
Many thanks to those of you who came to see our work, and to talk to us about it. It will be up through June 16.

community gardens in Vietnam
I had the extreme pleasure of traveling in Southeast Asia with Polly Jacobs Giacchina. We were joined in Laos and Cambodia by Janet De Boer. Our experiences were phenomenal: the food, the culture, the baskets, the monks. I hope these photos give you a taste of what we experienced. (And there’s a surprise at the end!)
Bangkok, Thailand
Bangkok is a city of 8 million people, with hundreds of Buddhist temples and shrines, thousands of market stalls, and amazing food.

Our guide told us that Siem Reap is a city with ½ million people and 6 traffic lights. Located nearby, Angkor Wat, a Hindu temple and UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the largest religious monument in the world.

The Kentucky Museum, on the campus of Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, is a gem of a museum. Brent Bjorkman is the Director extraordinaire. The current exhibit, up through the end of June, is "A Culture Carried," about the 6,000 Bosnians who live in Bowling Green. You can learn more about it here. It is a moving exhibit, worth a visit in person or on-line.

The Fuller Craft Museum, in Brockton, MA, does road trips. This week a busload of people journeyed to Brattleboro. My studio was included on their tour. It was an exciting few hours, a craft show in my own studio, with great conversations.
