community gardens in Vietnam
I had the extreme pleasure of traveling in Southeast Asia with Polly Jacobs Giacchina. We were joined in Laos and Cambodia by Janet De Boer. Our experiences were phenomenal: the food, the culture, the baskets, the monks. I hope these photos give you a taste of what we experienced. (And there’s a surprise at the end!)
Bangkok, Thailand
Bangkok is a city of 8 million people, with hundreds of Buddhist temples and shrines, thousands of market stalls, and amazing food.

Luang Prabang is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a beautiful city in north central Laos. Each morning, hundreds of monks walk through the streets collecting alms.

Siem Reap, Cambodia
Our guide told us that Siem Reap is a city with ½ million people and 6 traffic lights. Located nearby, Angkor Wat, a Hindu temple and UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the largest religious monument in the world.

Hanoi, Vietnam
A city of 8 million people and 5 million motorbikes. Crossing any street was a challenge; we were told to just start and keep on walking.

Halong Bay, Vietnam
Another UNESCO World Heritage Site, Halong Bay has over 2000 limestone islands, rising spectacularly from the water.
